The Horse You Came In On Saloon, popularly known as The Horse, is the oldest continuously operating saloon in the United States. It was established in 1775 in Fell's Point, Baltimore, Maryland. The Horse claims to be the last place Edgar Allan Poe was seen at before his delirium and sudden death.

The horse (Equus ferus caballus) is a domesticated, one-toed, hoofed mammal. It belongs to the taxonomic family Equidae and is one of two extant subspecies of Equus ferus.

The very first horses evolved on the North American grasslands over 55 million years ago. Then, they deserted North America and migrated across the Bering land bridge into what is now Siberia. From there, they spread west across Asia into Europe and south to the Middle East and Northern Africa.
